Ja Morant’s name is in trade headlines. Every development has been dissected in detail. But the situation remains unchanged.

Winter storm conditions have postponed the Memphis Grizzlies’ game against the Denver Nuggets.

If Ja Morant is dealt before the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline, the injury update would mean he has likely played his final game for the franchise.

Coach Tumoas Iisalo noted then that in a faster-paced, higher-scoring NBA, leads are not as safe as they once were. But keeping a lead has still been more of a problem for the Grizzlies than for most teams.

Last week, the Memphis Grizzlies organization — the players, members of the front office, the entertainment team, the mascot — traveled to Europe. So did The Daily Memphian. 

Should the Grizzlies have called a timeout in the last 6 seconds? That’s not the only conundrum.

The funding comes as Memphis and Shelby County continue to negotiate with the Grizzlies for a new, long-term lease and the city tries to find a way to renovate AutoZone Park.
